Jump the Brazilian Gap
Brazil is known for it’s big social differences. 6% of the habitants produce 50% of the national income. In Sao Paulo, people under the poverty line live in Favelas, units of self-constructed housing that are occupied illegally, just next to guarded villas and business centers. Murder rates in some favelas are among the highest world wide. Nowadays sport, especially Skateboarding is a way to jump the gap between rich and poor. Sando Dias, Otavio Neto and Denis Búiu tell the story how skateboarders built a group where the social background doesn’t count.
