Billabong Pipe Masters 2011
The Billabong Pipe Masters is the final stop of the Vans Triple Crown and the final event of the ASP Men’s World Tour 2011. As an iconic and historic wave, the Banzai Pipeline is often referred to as the best wave on the planet. The top 36 surfers fight for the most prestigious title in the World tour. The competition took place in some of the biggest, deadliest and best Pipe conditions in history. Multiple Vans Triple Crown winner Joel Parkinson came close to clinching his first Billabong Pipe Masters trophy, but was defeated by his fellow countryman Kieren Perrow. Pipeline local kid John John Florence also made his way to the podium. After finishing the Billabong Pipe Masters on 5th place he became the youngest winner of the Vans Triple Crown of surfing.
